Shoshana Bloom

Founder

Shoshana has had a 20-year career in healthcare, spent largely in management and commercial roles, leading technology programmes and service transformation. Her experience spans both the NHS and commercial healthcare sectors. She is a passionate advocate for effective use of technology to enable new models of healthcare that deliver better clinical and economic value – improving both healthcare safety and efficiency.

At the start of 2020, Shoshana began studying for a MSc in Global Public Health. This brought into focus the factors that sit outside the individual’s direct control that affect an individual’s health and access to services. How the global political stage shapes the health of a population. That a fairer society shapes a healthier society.

For her MSc thesis, Shoshana researched how digital health technologies drive inequities in health and access to services.  What emerged from her research was that many individuals face barriers to making full use of technology. These barriers are far more complex than many appreciate, and exist along the entire digital pathway, driving differences in technology use across different populations, which risks exacerbating health inequities. Consolidating her research findings, Shoshana founded Equiti Health with the purpose of working to deploy digital health technologies in a way that does not leave anyone behind.
